El Centro, CA — I met a lot of fine people there and began to again see the generosity in others that seemed in decline elsewhere. Here are some photos and stories from the trip. Next stop: San Diego.
TL;DR: Background check your volunteers. Find people solely to be speaking with refugees, as a friend, on the regular. Combat the dangerous and hateful rhetoric being perpetrated by the Right-wing and the President. “Doing the most good,” doesnt look like enough.
